Ipoh Trip: 1st stop. Ipoh Famous Yong Tau Foo @ Pasir Pinji Big Tree Foot

All right. I have been MIA for so long saying I would stop blogging here.
I... guess I changed my mind.

So, here I am, once again.
Writing about my blas and blus and most of all...

FOOD TRIP!

-----------------------------------------------------

Me and Sam thought of going for a trip during our 3 days holidays from the end of April till Labour Day.
Hardly we have been granted three VALUABLE holidays and thus, making a good use of it is our main priority.

After departing from my office at 1pm, we reached Ipoh around 3.40pm, can't blame me,
the traffic is congested along the highway -.-

Our first stop is none other than Pasir Pinji Big Tree Foot Yong Tau Foo.

This reputation of it isn't something of a hoax, the Yong Tau Foo (Yong Liew) made from the fish paste really taste fresh and every bite just brings you to another level of comfort... "food comfort". Every little Yong Liew we ate was definitely worth its money as the Yong Liew are stuffed packed, ensuring every bite is a BOMB!

I nearly forgot to mention about the soup base of the Yong Tau Foo, it is HEAVENLY!
The anchovies (ikan bilis)-based soup is very concentrated. Though a bit salty, it saltiness and the taste of the ikan bilis blend well with the fried Yong Liew.

Going at 60-70 cents per piece, this delicious masterpiece is definitely a must-go for anyone.

Here is the LOCATION of the place if you need to refer to the Google Map.

Author's note: The location is quite isolated from the town. So, make sure you look carefully in your search.

--------------------------------------------------------

My post will be shorter compare to last time, but I'll make sure every word speaks content.

Till then,

Adios

Love,
King

Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee @ Cheras

Okay the post has been dragged too long. So here it is.

Ever since I started working, hunting for good food has been on top of my list.
This time, the so-called best chilli Pan Mee is my target.

I didn't went to the original outlet (Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman) but gone to the outlet in Pandan Indah, Cheras.

The differences between these two outlets are:

Cheras..............................Chow Kit
Hygiene: Cleaner..................Dirtier
Service : Rock......................Like a rock down your throat
Price : Malaysian economy.......Malaysian economy
Taste : Godly.......................Devilish Godly

(All of the above are compared from personal experience and other bloggers' experience I found through the net)

Even though this new outlet is much bigger and they covered TWO rooms at the same time,
the food serving speed ain't fast enough.

Why?
Sadly they only have ONE kitchen to serve TWO shop lots.

It is like using one piece of toilet papers for two assess when you shit.

I've tried the food, it wasn't that SUPER DUPER OH-MY-GOD tasty like how I thought it would.
But nonetheless, it sure taste so good you want to keep eating it (May be it's down to the psychological factor that we waited for so long, so it must be good, right?)

The chilli flakes is darn spicy, man, this is definitely not for the NOOBS in spicy food.
I put 3 spoonful of the chilli flakes and damn, I was wrong for doing that.

Since I ordered dried mee, it is bloody dry and with chilli flakes on top, it is super spicy compare to the soup base as the chilli here has no where to go but with the noodles. -.-

The soft boiled eggs taste really good as the way to eat it is to mix everything together in the bowl and eat it after that.

Something like this...

If I need to describe the 'journey' I've finished this bowl of noodles, it would be something like this...

A tough journey starts from zero, chewing strings of explosives in a fully-contained environment gave tonnes of bombardments in the area. As the explosives bombarded the reservoir of ice, ocean of saliva flows out and BAMB!!! SCREAMS of TEARS from the contained-environment sending signals to the brain to STOP EATING!! But heck, as a man, I'll not bow down. Carrying the burden of this spice of life, I've finished this journey finally.

So, that's how the Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee's noodle taste like, I can't complain much as it does satisfied me in a way.
So, until next time.
Be careful of your food choice.

Next entry would be about the Tapas + Vodka party at my place.

TILL THEN

HAVE A SPICY DAY

Library and Otak-Otak 2009

I feel guilty,
for not telling her...

I might not look like it,
but in fact, I'm really feeling bad over it.

She has been with me for so long as time can remember,
She is the one I always talked to.

Through the ups and downs,
Lefts and rights...

She has always been there for me,
sorry...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
My blog.

Yes, it is my blog I'm talking about.
Feel bad for not updating much due to exam, so now I'm back with some pictures from last year (I know is a "bit" late, but heck, you are here anyway so might as well continue)

-------------------------------------------------

After hearing the hype over the newly open Library in The Curve, where the theme of the pub is... a Library... duh...

Before going there, I was actually imagining how would the place look like.
Would they wear those uniform where librarian wear but with a taste of sexiness?
And would they look like those pretty, young and carefree librarian that I used to see in my school days?

Too much imagination ain't good,
As the old saying goes,
the higher your expectation,
the higher you will fall.

Heck, that is what I experienced that day.

Honestly,

Those waitresses look like those from the maid agency,
Christ! Those aunties ain't your daily sweet and innocent neighbours, they seriously need a total makeover.

Honestly, they look so bad until I don't even dare to take their pictures, so there will be none here.

Below are some pictures we took that day (Many others in Facebook though)

The place though, do live up to its hype. This pub though don't have a dancefloor, does provide a lot of good interior design to make up for it. A large monitor screen for those that wants to watch football.
Basically it is just a place to chill out with friends, drinking some liquor/beer and just look around.
If you are lucky, you might see a magician lurking around trying to land some free drinks (And chicks too)

The only super duper drawback is the overcrowd issue.

Seriously, it is so packed until I can't move around freely,
it is almost like clubbing during the New Year Eve at Sanctuary The Curve type of crowded.

I have no choice but to squeeze through the crowd as if my life depends on it.

And yes, it was so darn noisy, every word I say has to be in the form of SHOUTING!!!!!
I SHOUT SO MUCH THAT DAY, I LOST MY VOIce the next day =.=

-------------------------------------------------

Next I'm going to talk about the trip to Otak-Otak at Tropicana City. I have been here twice, because their Otak-Otak just so good.

But the most impressive part is their interior decorations. They design it as if you are in a time machine flown you back while you step foot inside.

Why?

Because inside is full with primary school's text books, guli, your grandmother's bycicle and tonnes of other childhood toys.

Ah~~
It sure brings back memory.

Me and my friends can's stop playing the games while dining there, I mean, those Plane chess, Millionaire etc are just so fun to play with.
You can't really help yourself.

Food wise, it was okay, their signature is the Otak-Otak, it taste good. But still, the decorations are the main dish here.

You will definitely have a good time.

That is all for now.
Still in the holidaying mood.
Going to prepare my plan for the future now.

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY (",)

Dinner @ William's

William @ Kelana Jaya, is the brother of ever famous Mamak restaurant Murni in ss2. They say apples from the same tree won't drop any further away from each other. Well, I'm afraid this apple dropped into the river.

They are so different from each other except for the food portion which is almost identical... HUGE portion again from William as from Murni too.

But their price, hmmm... is far greater.
William cost slightly higher than Murni. Brother mah, sure higher oneeeeee.

I've ordered this thing called Chicken Chop, sounds innocent right?
Well, the price isn't =.="
RM 15 bloody blood sucker, haihhh...
At first the waiter said RM 10, it turns out bloody RM 15.

It taste good nonetheless, but the price...
Haihh...

What makes it worse, Ken and Gary ordered Premium which is RM 18...
BUT with lots of variety of food in it!!!
See for yourself.

Inside this Premium, you have mashed potato, bacon, sausages with meat gravy, and a BIG PIECE OF ROAST DRUMSTICK!!
Damn worth it!!!! RM 18!!

Even Joy's Roti Ketam Hawaii looks better than mine =.="

Her Ketam Hawaii consist of real crab meat with eggs and chicken I think. Taste good IMO.

Very very unfair laa!!
RM 15 for a Chicken Chop isn't that worth it seeing Premium is such a good order than mine.
Next time must be clever in choosing.

--------------------------------------

After a series of plan changing, in the end we went for L4D again lol!
Bang bang,

"Louis stop shooting!!!!" "Boomer!!" "Graaaah!!" *Tank yelling* "Molotovs here"

AhhHhh~
Sounds of blissfulness XD

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY ^^

P.s.: Have been going out non-stop for the whole week... Exhausted =.=

Kissaten @ Jaya One

Kissaten
L12A-1-1
Palm Square
Jaya One
72A Jalan Universiti
46200 Petaling Jaya

Tel No: 03 - 7954 1990
Opening hours: 8am - 10pm daily

Darn! I've been busy with assignments and BOF (Boys Over Flower) until i have no time to write my entry, so this is the supposedly-written-on-July 4th-entry.

This is a place called Kissaten...

-----------------------------------------------------------

Saturday morning, a wonderful day, normally students will have no class on this blissful day of the week, where we should be just like the Sleeping Beauty, sleep (rest) until the prince (morning sun) kisses us.
But no, this is reality, this ain't fairytale, we still have class on Saturday... yay =.="

After all the canceled outings and movies, finally there's 1 outing that really work. Meeting up with Tinkucing for lunch and the "special guess"-Sylvene tag along as well ^^

First we went to a Japanese restaurant near Tappers but eventually we've been attracted by the wrong thing and ended up in Kissaten.

It sucks...

The interior in Kissaten is just plain white, from the wall till the ceiling, thank god there are some paintings and deco on the wall, if not, i believe i will just BOMB this place gao gao!

Okay, then there is the menu, the wonderful menu, I'm serious, the menu looks nice, but that's all about it.
It provides varieties of food ranging from Pizza, Spaghetti, Ramen etc. Basically combination of Japanese and Italian food.
The pictures of the food looks nice, but darn, the food aren't.

----------------------------------------------------

General rating
7 stars = Quite disappointed seriously, the Curry Katsu Tinkuching ordered taste nothing like katsu, it looks more like Siew Yok (Chinese roast pork). The meat texture and taste just not on par with some other Katsu dishes Tinkuching has tasted.
The 2 spaghetti dish that me and Sylvene have ordered taste average, in Gordon Ramsey language would be "It Taste Bland! Try harder!"

Naf said... I don't even want to analyze it according to the 4 categories I usually do. This shows you how piss off I am with the restaurant.

But the Ice Mocha I ordered comes with a delicate tiny cup which Tinkuching went crazy over it, guess this is the pearl on a pile of dirt, not so bad after all.

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY^^

~All of the statements above are my personal opinion & it may not be 100% true as it is just a review that one can use as reference~

Ohya, we didn't try the dessert, may be the desserts taste great, but who knows?

趣台北ss2

有兴趣去趣台北吗?

so many "qu" confused you? No need my friend, your eyes didn't deceives you, this place is really called “趣台北” XD

But when you ask like that, there will be THREE sound "qu" in the sentence, I like to confuse people XD

---------------------------趣台北----------------------------

趣台北is a Taiwan-food theme restaurant that offers variety of Taiwanese food to its customers. Classic Taiwanese food such as 三杯鸡,鲁肉饭,盐酥鸡趴饭 and etc.

The most recognizable drink here is definitely the "bubble tea" ^^
This is easily distinguishable with large part of its beverage menu consists of bubble tea varieties.

They even present the bubble tea "pearl" in a tiny delicate cup for us. Nice~

趣台北located at the opposite of MC Donald's in ss2 and it is newly open so if the "traffic" gets congested, you know it is because of its "freshness".

The ambiance is okay, it actually looks a bit simple with tables and chairs arranged like in a class of a kindergarten XD lolx

--------------------------Food tasting---------------------------

I've ordered 三杯鸡because this is what the waitress recommended me to(鲁肉饭too)
cost me around Rm14.50 but the portion of the chicken is quite huge so you can say it's worth every penny (portionwise)

Tastewise, it is just so-so, the chicken doesn't taste as good as the one in 龙的传人, but i like the gravy on top of the rice though, yummy!!^^

Joy, ordered this below...

This is by far the tastiest dish we've ordered the whole evening lolx
It is called 台湾香肠-taiwanese sausage.
It taste much better than those you tasted in the Pasar Malam anywhere in Malaysia.
Instead of frying it, they bake it.

Taste wonderful!

We get some "special" discount too when we settled the bill ^^
But that will be our secret la... haha...

------------------------Later at night-------------------------

We gone to Pasar Malam to "see see look look" but I forgot where's the place -.-"
The girls bought some clothes and we gone home after that...

Well, all in a day's work.

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY ^^

P.S.: I didn't includes any personal rating in this post because I feel there's more good food there, so until i tried the delicacies, I will not include my marks in.

Cafe Chulo @ Jaya One!! A spanish pub/restaurant!

Okay, I like Spanish stuff...
And I like everything that's have something to do with Spain...

Their culture, food, music etc.
They are my soul and life...
In fact, I plan to have a PR there...
Considering retiring and live my last day there with my wife...

So now you can imagine how much i adore Spain?

I breathe, I listen, i EAT Spain...
They are my life...

My Mom gotta kill me...
^^" Cos she said...

"Once the water flow into the sea, it will never comes back"

Well, mom... I'll only do that once your dead...
I mean, I won't kill you of course -.-"
I will just accompany and take care of you and dad until both of you pass away...
Before i fly over there ^^

So, enough of intro...
Let's start my food review ^^

Chulo Spanish Restaurant & Tapas Bar
L-20-1, Block L, Jaya One
Sect 13/6, 46400 P.Jaya Selangor

This place serves Spanish food, and surely, I'm the 1st one to dash all the way there lo!!!

This is my maiden dine at a Spanish restaurant...
And man...
It didn't(really) fail me ^^

The place is deco in modern bar-like restaurant, frankly speaking, it doesn't reflects the side of Spain which I imagine.
They have 2 floors, the one that lead up to the balcony have a better view of the Palm Square and with a better PA system. Means better music!

Then, the majority of customers will be having their dinner and supper outdoors, so me, WM & her bf waited for KL because she has some problems.

and we wait...

and wait...

and wait...

Haha! It sounds familiar right??

(Ok...ok... don't kill me KL)

Ok, so we delay the meet up...
But she came in the end...

SO let the tasting begins!!!!

WM ordered a fish dish which i think is called butter fish,
the taste was phenomenal!!

Seriously, that's the best dish I've tasted that day!

The fish taste heavenly juicy... I once thought the fish was being treated like a princess where they gave massage to it before they cook it...
If not, how can it taste so good with so many "juice"!!
I once thought the fish have some royal treatment before they died^^

Next, KL(the other KL, he is WM's boyfriend) ordered a chicken paella, which as 1st smells good, but later part I'll tell you how it taste.

Koon Leng ordered chuleta de cordero, a Spanish lamb chop. This is what i intro her after i browsed through all the blogs I've encountered with.

It taste okay, but doens't taste exquisite though...

So, finally, i chose Seafood Paella as my main course! And, the taste was exquisite at first... Taste plain later, and finally, i feel i have enough of it while trying my best to finish the last few bites.

Well, look on the bright site, the interior is nice.

FOOD REVIEW

TASTE: 8.5 marks (The butter fish was phenomenal... naf said)
ATMOSPHERE: 8.0 marks (The blue-black theme does well with the environment)
SERVICE: 9.0 marks (Not bad, the waiter was trying to clear my table even though i didn't finish it yet)
PRICE: 8.5 marks (Is a fine dining... What do you expect, right?)

POINTS: 85 %

CONCLUSION
I would go back and have my dinner there, it will be "next summer" rather than "coming soon"...

So, "coming soon" guys...
See ya in the future!

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY

Dragon One ss2

No.59, Gound Flr, Jalan SS2/75,
47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Dragon One,

nope, it is not a new online RPG game from Blizzard.
& no, it is not a new TVB drama.
Dragon One is infact, a restaurant.

I can't believe i didn't notice this restaurant for the past 8 months, don't know why, may be is because it is situated beside the all famous MURNI restaurant there.
So all the focus is on MURNI, not Dragon... Kesian -.-"

But anyway, that day rain heavily till my dear queen has to come early to have dinner with me.
At 1st, we plan to dine at MURNI(sry Dragon 1, i didn't know about you back then -.-)
But since it is crowded, we ended up eating at Dragon One, & we didn't regret ever since.

INTRO~
The restaurant was surrounded with waves of red ^^", bright and colorful at the same time, and since that's a rainy day, the moody feeling was CRUSHED by this theme of colors. Thank god.

Small problem happened though, there was this waiter, I'm not sure where he's from, because his accent sounds strange for a chinese even though he looks like it...

He actually looks like a vietnamese that is wrapped with an orange skin if you know what i mean ^^ But his eyes, looks different. & I'm more convinced he's not a Chinese after he did this to us...

He say yes, yes, yes in everything we've ordered, but then, he miss out 1 order from us. Darn! & i still thought they are sooooooooo considerate for not serving us the other noodles because we haven't finish the 1st food we've ordered...
haihhhhh...
Stupid waiter, a person that's deaf serves food better than him...

MY CRAB NOODLE RO, YummY!

The Noodle Crab RO(noodle) i've ordered tasted like heaven, the soup taste sooooo mild and smooth until it triggered my urge to devour it even more... I finished the whole bowl of noodles including the soup. It was really really REALLY

OUT OF THIS WORLD!

But the trademark of the restaurant is the Shanghai Dumpling they offered, got step-by-step on how to eat o!

but really, if you follow the steps, you will taste the dumpling as how it should be tasted...

It will be the best experience you'll get. Because that's what i had^^

All in all, we spent RM 29.90

Noodle Crab RO = Rm 8.80
Shanghai Dumpling = Rm 6.00
Sour Plum Lemon = Rm 4.80
Milk Tea = Rm 2.80
ZC Noodle = Rm 6.80

Atmosphere : 8.0 (normal, simple)
Service : 7.50 (The super waiter... Cannot tahan...)
Food : 9.0 (Close to getting 9.50)
Price : 8.5 ( i think is worth it... REALLY!!)

OVERALL : 82.5%

This is what we had after Dragon, finally, for over 2 months we've waited...

Green Tea Snowy Ice finally arrived...
*praying*

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY

~All of the statement above is my personal opinion & it may not be 100% true in terms on personal feelings and the statements, it is just a guide/review that one can use as reference~
